Pamela Kistler First-year Undergraduate Chemistry Achievement Award
CHEMISTRY FACULTY! BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR TOP FIRST-YEAR STUDENT RECOGNIZED BY THE
LEHIGH VALLEY LOCAL SECTION EACH FALL!
In 2025, the Lehigh Valley Section of the ACS established a new annual award to recognize an excellent first year student (from the previous academic year) in each chemistry program from our Lehigh Valley section’s 4-year colleges. The awards are presented each year at the September Section meeting. The award is named after Dr. Pam Kistler, a local HS graduate (Dieruff HS Class of 1971) who taught at Cedar Crest College for many years until her retirement in 2021 and was an active member of the LVACS, serving as one of our councilors for several 3-year terms. She was known at Cedar Crest not only for her time as department chair, but also for her work with first-year chemistry students. Pamela Kistler was inducted into the Dieruff High School Alumni Wall of Distinction by the school on June 20, 2019.
